EDGEtv Launches Their First “Pay It Forward” Film Initiative With The Premiere Of The Critically Acclaimed “Double Barrel” Surf Movie

edgetv-logoEDGEtv (www.EDGEtv.com), the online entertainment streaming platform “For Millennials by Millennials” is launching the first of their “pay it forward program” film initiative with the premiere of the feature film, Double Barrel, Angie Davis’ critically acclaimed surf movie.

EDGEtv will donate a portion of its ad revenue to the marine protection project in Lobitos: Juntos Por Las Playas Del Norte. Proceeds from the films revenue are donated to the Lobitos campaign, with a goal that the area be inducted as a protected area by National Law by December 2016. The objective of the film is to raise awareness on the issues of sustainable development and surf tourism and help the enchanting village Lobitos become a protected Oasis.

“This film exposes some of today’s most critical environmental issues, especially those that threatened Lobitos and the North Coast of Peru,” noted Jonathon Barbato, CMO EDGEtv. “Double Barrel showcases the beauty of the relationships between the local surfers, the filmmakers and photographers. Many of today’s action sports athletes are deeply passionate about protecting the environment or giving back in some way. Double Barrel is EDGEtv’s first offering of its commitment to cause and content.  What’s happening to Peru’s oceans matters to all of us, whether you’re surfing the pipeline in Lobitos or just concerned with conservation.”

A story about travel, friendship, the ocean, and change, Double Barrel follows Peruvian Surf Guide Harold Koechlin’s Dream of Protecting Peru’s World-Class Surf Breaks and Working with the local community to turn an oil-dominated North Coast village into a truly sustainable surf town. Double Barrel, a film by Switchboard Media; directed by Angie Davis and co-directed by Dustin Hollick, had a hugely successful global festival tour, including a world premiere in the prestigious Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
