Mike Krzyzewski Signs Multi-Year Extension with SiriusXM

Mike Krzyzewski

SiriusXM announced today that Hall of Fame basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski has signed a multi-year agreement to continue hosting his exclusive weekly SiriusXM show, Basketball and Beyond with Coach K. Krzyzewski, whose retirement after last season marked the end of a legendary coaching career, began hosting his show in 2005. The premier episode of the show’s 18th season will air tomorrow, November 3.

Krzyzewski will host a new edition of Basketball and Beyond with Coach K every week throughout college basketball season, as well as multiple offseason episodes of the show.

Each Thursday at 6 pm ET the show will debut on SiriusXM, airing on the ESPNU Radio and SiriusXM ACC Radio channels. Following the debut airing, the show can be heard anytime on the SXM App.

On the show Coach K and co-host Dave Sims discuss the current events happening in basketball as well as the headline stories from the larger sports world, and Krzyzewski leads compelling one-on-one interviews with accomplished guests from different walks of life, from champion coaches and players to leaders of government and business.

“This will be the first fall in nearly 50 years that I’m not on the sidelines, and I’m so pleased to extend my long relationship with SiriusXM and continue hosting Basketball and Beyond,” said Krzyzewski. “Having the creative freedom to do a really unique show has been incredibly important and rewarding to me. I can be a part of the national conversation on basketball, while also exploring interesting topics with a variety of guests who make an impact far beyond the basketball court.”

“Since season one, Coach has brought our listeners an engaging, truly one-of-a-kind show each and every week,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer. “Not only does Mike’s passion for the game come through in his own commentary, but the preparation and genuine curiosity that he brings to the interviews he does with his guests produce some extraordinary and enlightening conversations. It is an honor to have him as a SiriusXM host and we couldn’t be more pleased to be extending our relationship with him and delivering his show to our listeners in the years ahead.”

Krzyzewski concluded one of the greatest careers in the history of sports when he retired last season after leading the Duke Blue Devils to a record 13th Final Four appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Through his 46-year Hall of Fame career as a head coach, first at Army West Point (1975-80) then Duke (1980-2022), Krzyzewski amassed a NCAA-record 1,202 victories and led the Blue Devils to five NCAA national championships, all the while mentoring hundreds of players. As the head coach of the USA Basketball Men’s National Team, Coach K won three Olympic gold medals, two FIBA World Championship gold medals and one FIBA Americas Championship gold medal.

Krzyzewski has been diligently committed to public service, both locally and nationally, throughout his career. He has or is currently serving on boards for, while also assuming vital roles with, the Duke Children’s Hospital, the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research, the NABC Foundation, the CEO Roundtable on Cancer and the Emily Krzyzewski Center.

In addition to Coach K’s show, SiriusXM listeners get daily coverage of college basketball season on six dedicated college sports channels, plus access to live play-by-play of thousands of college games throughout the season.
