2023 Ryder Cup to Air Live on SiriusXM

SiriusXM will offer subscribers nationwide live hole-by-hole coverage of the 2023 Ryder Cup, golf’s biennial international event that pits a team of all-star players from America against their counterparts from Europe.

SiriusXM will deliver more than 28 hours of live coverage from this year’s Ryder Cup – which will take place September 29 through October 1 at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club near Rome, Italy – giving fans access to the event in its entirety, from the first tee shots on Friday through the final hole on Sunday.

The Ryder Cup showcases teams of 12 of the best players from the United States and Europe facing off in match play. The event features foursome and four-ball matches on Friday and Saturday, and 12 head-to-head singles matches on Sunday.

Live coverage will begin on Friday and Saturday, September 29 and 30, at 1 am ET and on Sunday, October 1 at 5 am ET and continue through the final hole of each day’s play. Listeners will hear SiriusXM’s exclusive broadcast featuring calls by Taylor Zarzour, Colt Knost, Mark Carnevale, Brian Katrek, John Maginnes and Drew Stoltz, as well as the official Ryder Cup Radio channel, produced in partnership by IMG and Ryder Cup Europe, which features commentators Marcus Buckland, Richard Kaufman, Sue Thearle, Robert Lee, Alberto Binaghi, Lee Slattery, Raymond Burns, Sophie Walker, Ron Jones, Matt Adams and Dave Farrar. After each day’s play, listeners will hear post-match shows hosted by SiriusXM’s Gary Williams.

The broadcasts can be heard nationwide on SiriusXM radios (channel 92) and on the SiriusXM app: siriusxm.us/SiriusXMPGATourRadio

“The Ryder Cup is one of the most exciting events in all of sports,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer. “Our listeners will get comprehensive access to the tournament, with live coverage of every match, and a level of insight and analysis leading up to and throughout the event that you’ll only get from SiriusXM.”

Captain Zach Johnson leads Team USA. Representing the United States on the course will be World #1 ranked player Scottie Scheffler, 2023 PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka, 2023 U.S. Open Champion Wyndham Clark, 2023 Open Champion Brian Harman, Jordan Spieth, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas.

This year’s European team is captained by Luke Donald and headlined by World #2 Rory McIlroy, 2023 Masters Champion Jon Rahm, 2023 FedEx Cup Champion Viktor Hovland, Robert MacIntyre, Tyrrell Hatton, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Sepp Straka, Justin Rose, Shane Lowry, Nicolai Hojgaard and Ludvig Aberg.

In the days leading up to the competition, listeners can tune in to SiriusXM for the best golf programming in audio as SiriusXM’s expert hosts – including former players, coaches and insiders – will provide a comprehensive preview of the Ryder Cup matchup. SiriusXM will also present a Ryder Cup special, Backstory: Ryder Cup. Host David Marr III will look at the Europeans’ success in Ryder Cups played on their home turf over the last three decades. Marr will also take the audience back 30 years to the 1993 Ryder Cup in England, the last time the Americans won the Ryder Cup on European soil, to retell the story of American Jim Gallagher. Gallagher’s two key match wins, including a stirring victory over the legendary Seve Ballesteros, helped Team USA capture that year’s Cup. Additionally, former tour pro Smylie Kaufman will host two special joint podcast episodes alongside European Tour pro Andrew “Beef” Johnston debuting on September 26 and 27. The team up of Kaufman’s SiriusXM podcast, The Smylie Show, and Johnston’s Beef’s Golf Club will combine the American and European perspectives on the Ryder Cup. Kaufman will also record nightly episodes of The Smylie Show while in Italy, reacting to the results of each round and previewing the following day’s matchups.
