The Dallas Wings and Panther City Lacrosse Club have announced veteran Sports and Entertainment executive Steve Violetta has joined the teams’ front office to serve as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.
“Steve joins our organization with over three decades of sports industry experience and will bring both knowledge and a professional network that will be vitally important to the growth of our business moving forward,” stated Dallas Wings and Panther City Lacrosse Club President and CEO Greg Bibb.
“Having served in senior roles with some of the industry’s biggest brands, Steve will bring fresh ideas and new perspectives to our efforts while also serving as an outstanding mentor for our younger colleagues. I’m excited to have him join our leadership group as we look to sustain and then accelerate our positive business momentum.”
Violetta had previously served as the Sr. Vice President for the Oilers Entertainment Group in Edmonton since 2016, increasing the Oilers sponsorship revenue by 58% over his 3 and a half years, the highest in the NHL during that time frame.
“This is a rare opportunity in the sports world that doesn’t come along very often during one’s career,” says Violetta. “To join the Wings already successful senior leadership team, and work alongside them to drive future success, is by itself very exciting. With that established WNBA brand comes the expansion National Lacrosse League team, Panther City Lacrosse Club. Prior to working with the Oilers, Violetta was the Chief Executive Officer, Part Owner and Alternate Governor for Steven Brothers Sports Management based in Dallas, Texas where he increased the total gross revenue of the Tulsa, Allen and Wichita East Coast Hockey League franchises. In addition to his work in hockey, Violetta has also served as the CEO and Part Owner of the Staten Island Yankees and the Executive Vice President, Business Affairs for the San Diego Padres, where he negotiated the naming rights for Petco Park. The Michigan native has also held senior roles with the Detroit Red Wings, Nashville Predators, Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins.
