MSG Networks this week announced “Unapologetic: A Month of Pride, Presented by Delta Air Lines,” a month-long lineup of special programming in June to celebrate Pride Month and amplify the voices and stories of the LGBTQIA+ community. The coverage will put a spotlight on the courageous, trailblazing individuals who continue to leave a lasting impact on sports and remain at the forefront of the fight for LGBTQIA+ equality.

As part of the lineup, MSG Networks will premiere “Unapologetic: A Conversation on Pride Presented by Delta Air Lines,” a three-part special featuring powerful and honest conversations among LGBTQIA+ athletes in sports. Participants will candidly share their own story and personal journey, as well as hurdles faced throughout their careers as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The series will debut this Friday, June 3rd, at 11:30pm as part of the network’s ‘Friday Night Pride’ programming block this month. The panelists will include:

  • CeCé Telfer, track and field star who became the first transgender person to win an NCAA title
  • Chris Mosier, transgender athlete and activist
  • Michelle Betos, goalkeeper for NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League
  • Rebecca Morse, defender for the Connecticut Whale of the Premier Hockey Federation
  • Ryan O’Callaghan, former offensive lineman with the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs
  • R.K. Russell, former defensive end with the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Sue Hovey, journalist and co-author of Brittney Griner autography, “In My Skin: My Life On and Off the Basketball Court”

MSG Networks will debut “Alone in the Game,” an acquired documentary film that explores the ongoing struggles LGBTQIA+ athletes continue to face at the professional, collegiate and Olympic levels. Produced by filmmaker David McFarland, the film examines these cultural issues through interviews with prominent figures in sports such as former NBA center Jason Collins, soccer star and Olympic Gold medalist Megan Rapinoe, former NFL offensive lineman Ryan O’Callaghan, former soccer player and MLS Cup Champion Robbie Rogers and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

Throughout the month, MSG Networks’ coverage will also include a mix of short form content, as well as a daily interstitial content series that celebrates the people, places and events that have contributed to the LGBTQIA+ history in New York City. Short form content will include “I am Harrison,” an original feature on former hockey player Harrison Browne and his journey to becoming the first transgender professional athlete in North American team sports, and “City of Hoops,” a documentary on a predominantly LGBTQIA+, all women’s pick-up basketball league in New York.

All Pride Month programming airing in June will also be available on MSG GO, the network’s live streaming and video on demand platform.
