VYPE Media, the nation’s leading promoter of youth and high school sports, has announced today its acquisition of GameDay Films, a Houston-based sports media company that delivers filming, photography, and production services to the booming youth sports industry.

With over 13,000 sporting events filmed since its launch in 2015, GameDay Films offers customized filming and photography packages to teams, leagues, schools, events, and tournaments across all sports. The company also employs an experienced team of editors, directors, producers, and writers capable of creating professional video productions for all types of organizations.

“VYPE Media’s true passion lies in the promotion and celebration of youth sports. With the addition of GameDay’s high-quality services, we can offer coaches, athletes, and families a one-stop shop for capturing those breathtaking moments they want to share and remember,” said VYPE Media’s Chief Revenue Officer Shane Hildreth.

The acquisition of GameDay Films supports VYPE Media’s expansion into the growing high school and youth sports market, builds on their existing broadcast capabilities, and supplements their print and digital sports reporting flagship VYPE Magazine.

“We’re thrilled about joining VYPE and believe the strength of their existing platform and brand will allow us to rapidly expand our presence and establish ourselves as the most comprehensive, reliable, and trusted provider of film, photography, and production services for youth sports,” founder and CEO of GameDay Films Jorge Ortiz said.

Ortiz will continue to lead VYPE’s filming and photography service lines in addition to serving as the company’s Chief Technology Officer.

As a part of the acquisition, GameDay Films will now operate under the new name VYPE Films.
