‘Elvis, Aretha and The Babe: 8/16 — Three Times the Bell Will Toll” Published by John Cirillo

Elvis, Aretha and the Babe

Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin and Babe Ruth share the same death date — August 16 — and their story is brought to light by author John Cirillo in the just published book Elvis, Aretha and The Babe: 8/16 — Three Times the Bell Will Toll.

The 304-page book connects three American icons who all died on the same date (different years of course). The priceless interviews, historical research and references provide a riveting read to be enjoyed by those who’ve lived through it and those who want to learn about it!

Exclusive interviews and extensive interviews accompanied by the wit and wisdom of Cirillo provide a publication that readers young and old are sure to treasure.

Sportscasters Bob Costas, Michael Kay Christopher Russo and Larry Merchant, deejays “Cousin” Bruce Murrow, Ken Dashow, Mark Chernoff, Richard Neer and Mike McCann, baseball stars Carl Erskine and Ron Swoboda, musical artists Bobby Rush and Vaneese Thomas, and sportswriters Bill Verrigan, Mike Vaccaro, Dan Shaughnessy, Ian O’Connor, Bob Klapisch, Jack Curry and Dominick Amore are among the dozens of contributors to the volume with extensive insight on the iconic trio.

Ruth’s granddaughter Linda Ruth Tosetti wrote the foreword.

The book is highlighted by commonalities shared by Elvis, Aretha and the Babe including their love of Cadillacs, their affinity for fur coats, charitable endeavors, movie and television appearances, and managers who lent a hand in their stardom.

“Elvis, Aretha and the Babe” is Cirillo’s third published work. Last year, the former Knicks head of public relations published his memoir “Marbles on an Unpaved Road: An Ode to Sheepshead Bay,” and the children’s book “A Tail From The Bronx: Life’s Lessons Taught by A Cat.”
