mycujoo today announced the appointment of Michiel Hofstee to the position of Chief Commercial Officer. Hofstee brings over 25 years of leadership and expertise in new business development and acquisition along with relationship management with an international focus.

mycujoo, an Amsterdam-based company, is transforming the sports broadcast market by providing rights-holders with free broadcasting technology, viewers with free content, and enabling players and fans to take an active, creative role in content creation and distribution.
It has developed a unified streaming and media rights platform empowering football federations, leagues, clubs and players, to showcase engaging video content, live and on-demand. Its aim is to inspire communities, fans and offer unique opportunities for commercial partners.
mycujoo is set to evolve its international coverage and presence with the appointment of Hofstee as Chief Commercial Officer. The newly created role will enable mycujoo to expand on its existing commercial models and develop new ones around data monetisation, brand-led content acquisition, strategic partnerships, original content and community driven UGC. The strategy will guide all our regions and markets, implementation will be influenced by local insight.
The appointment comes off the recent company agreement with a landmark tenth Brazilian state football federation. The deal will see mycujoo broadcast up to 300 matches from the federation’s competitions over the next two years. Aside from its Serie A and Copa Sub-20 competitions, all of the federation’s matches will be broadcast on mycujoo. Negotiations to solidify agreement deals are in the pipeline with many remaining Brazilian states.
Hofstee joins mycujoo with a passion for sports aligned with over 25 years’ experience in the marketing-communication industry. Most recently he headed WPP’s Health & Wellness offer in the MENA region. He joined JWT in 1997 in Amsterdam as Account Director, promoted to Client Services Director/Managing Partner in 2000 and was made Member of the Group Board in 2004. In 2006 He moved to China to take up the role of Managing Director at JWT Shanghai. In 2010 he took the helm at JWT Dubai and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the Gulf region in 2014. Hofstee has taken his experiences into the classroom having lectured integrated marketing – communication at the American University in Dubai for three years.
