MSG Networks has announced that versatile sports reporter and hockey analyst Rachel Herzog, a former NCAA Division I hockey player, has joined MSG Networks as a host and analyst for the New Jersey Devils on MSG Networks along with Bryce Salvador, Bill Spaulding, and Ken Danekyo. Herzog, formerly of WDAY-TV in Fargo, North Dakota has an extensive hockey background as a player and commentator.
“The hockey community is truly special to me, and it’s a dream to host professional games and join the New Jersey Devils broadcast team,” said Herzog. “As a player and analyst, I’ve dedicated my life to this incredible sport. It’s an honor to join MSG Networks and the New Jersey Devils community, and I’m excited to be a part of such an incredible team.”

In 2019, Herzog became a staple in KMSP FOX9’s coverage of St. Cloud State men’s and women’s hockey, serving as a studio analyst and ice-side reporter. Her outstanding efforts led to being recognized with an Upper Midwest Emmy’s Award for College Live Sports Production (Feature Reporter/In-Studio Analyst), a BEA Festival of Media Arts Award winning 1st place for Radio and TV Play-by-Play (Color Analyst) and receiving two nominations for Sports Video Group’s Sports Media Awards for Outstanding Social Media Video.
In 2022, Herzog joined WDAY-TV (ABC affiliate) in Fargo, North Dakota to serve as a weekend sports anchor and sports reporter. Herzog also produced feature stories for her daily newscasts, and interviewed players and coaches during coverage of North Dakota high school state tournaments.
A graduate of St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, Herzog played defense for four years following two state high school championships in Minnesota. Herzog continued her passion for hockey by joining St. Cloud State University’s Athletics department creating video content for the university’s men’s and women’s hockey broadcasts and produced digital content for the university’s athletics social media channels.
