The current iteration of the Baltimore Orioles made their debut in Charm City in 1954, when the perennial also-ran St. Louis Browns moved into town. But the history of baseball in Baltimore goes back a century further.

A documentary by Ken Mars, Baltimore Baseball Before The Birds 1858-1881, is scheduled for 2016 release.
