BlueFrame Technology, a digital video solutions provider, has added Chris Knowlton to its staff as Partner and Chief Strategy Officer to assist the company in continuing its rapid growth in the live streaming industry.

Knowlton said, “It’s an honor to be selected as the new Partner and Chief Strategy Officer. I’m looking forward to helping BlueFrame address new market needs and extend their presence in the industry.”

A passionate evangelist and leader for streaming media technologies, Chris Knowlton has spent the last 17 years working on products and partnerships that make live and on-demand media delivery accessible for companies of all sizes. A recognized industry authority, Chris was honored in 2011 as a “Streaming Media All-Star” by Streaming Media Magazine, and he holds several patents for streaming software technologies. Before BlueFrame, Chris spent five years as vice president at Wowza Media Systems, first leading product management and then moving to a dedicated streaming industry evangelist role. Prior to that, Chris spent 10 years at Microsoft helping set strategy for the on-premises and cloud media server roadmaps, from Windows Media to Smooth Streaming to Azure Media Services, and led cross-divisional and partner efforts to develop the core Microsoft Media Platform. Chris had previously worked in alliance management at NetApp and with several Tier 1 automotive suppliers. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering at Michigan State University.

“As an industry veteran, Chris brings invaluable experience and leadership to BlueFrame as we grow in our established markets and look to expand into new verticals,” says Ben Kant, CEO of BlueFrame.

BlueFrame is focused on helping associations, conferences, and individual organizations easily and cost-effectively create, manage, and distribute high-quality sports video content. This is accomplished with their proprietary Production Truck(R) software in conjunction with their vCloud content management system. BlueFrame software and services can be used as a turnkey, white-labeled digital network, or any component can be individually integrated into an existing workflow. Their solutions also include market-leading OTT apps that are accessible to any organization interested in building their own digital broadcast presence.

“BlueFrame has done a tremendous job for NCAA and NJCAA colleges and athletic conferences by making high-quality event production and live streaming more accessible,” said Knowlton. “Their combination of intuitive production software and value-based cloud streaming services really meet a critical market need.”
