SportsEdTV Appoints Jaeger, Makovsky to Advisory Board

Jaeger-MakovSportsEdTV, which provides free, world-class, online video instruction in over thirty sports, has appointed Andrea Jaeger, a former number two world-ranked professional tennis player, and Matt Makovsky, Chief Executive of New York-based innovation consultancy, Skylabs, and Chief Strategy Officer of Makovsky, a leading independent integrated marketing company, to its Advisory Board. They join a board whose members are uniquely qualified to advise the senior management team of Miami-based SportsEdTV, which is launching its new website this coming July.

Jaeger is currently President and Founder of Little Star Foundation, an award-winning global children’s charity providing free services to children with cancer and children in need worldwide.

“Andrea is a doer, mover and shaker who brings four decades of valued experience to SportsEdTV,” said Chairman and Chief Marketing Officer Robert Mazzucchelli. “She has raised over $120 million to fund the program services of her foundation, she was a record-breaking child sports prodigy, and she is an award-winning humanitarian. She has worked at the highest levels of sports, health, management and media for decades and she will bring a wealth of value to our company as an advisor.”

“Matt brings several important areas of insight to SportsEdTV,” said Chairman and Chief Marketing Officer Robert Mazzucchelli, “because he was a collegiate athlete, and he’s a first-rate marketer, and he’s an innovation specialist.” He added, “Sports, marketing and innovation are the cornerstones of our business, so its a perfect fit.”

“SportsEdTV provides free, world-class sports video education to all global consumers with an internet connection, even those who cannot afford top-notch coaching,” said Jaeger. She added, “Athletes and coaches who do not have access to unlimited financial resources can now level the playing field with SportsEdTV’s on-demand video instruction platform. SportsEdTV’s pioneering content, research and leadership will help advance sports and improve the rate of learning for athletes, players and coaches at every level.”

“SportsEdTV is an idea whose time has come,” said Makovsky.

He added, “The first point of learning today is online video. The big unknown in the sports learning business marketplace has been how does a company combine the right business model with a consistent stream of high-quality, professionally-produced content. SportsEdTV has nailed the model for teaching sports online and offers the content for free. It’s a big win for everyone. And the fact that they are doing it across dozens of sports is genius.”

In addition to his dual leadership roles at Skylabs and Makovsky, Makovsky was Manager of Strategy, Marketing and Business Development at the National Football League from 2007 to 2009. Prior to the NFL, he worked in Hill & Knowlton’s sports marketing practice in London from 2005 to 2007, where he focused on Olympic Games sponsorship activation.
