L.L. Bean and Johnsonville Added as Partners to Tour Championship

DGPT

The Disc Golf Pro Tour is adding L.L. Bean and Johnsonville as partners for the Tour Championship. The Disc Golf Pro Tour adds these partners on the heels of the announcement of Guaranteed Rate becoming the presenting sponsor of the event. These partners will make the Tour Championship the biggest purse in professional disc golf history at $250,000 with $30,000 going to winners of each division.

“L.L.Bean has been in our sights for years. The DGPT audience is outdoor enthusiasts, and L.L.Bean specializes in clothing and outdoor recreation equipment. I’ve always thought it was a good fit,” said DGPT Director of Partnerships Sean Jack. “Johnsonville reached out shortly after the World Championships – thanks, James. Be on the lookout for some new on-course assets at the Tour Championship. We’re thrilled to work with these organizations!”

L.L.Bean, Inc. is a leading multichannel merchant of quality outdoor gear and apparel.

“As a brand committed to creating products and experiences that enable everyone to enjoy the restorative power of the outdoors, we are excited to support the Disc Golf Pro Tour, as well as the passionate community of fans and players that make this growing sport so special,” said L.L. Bean’s Director of Brand and Performance Media, Chuck Gannon.

“Growing up in New England, I always had a pair of Bean boots,” said Jeff Spring, DGPT CEO. “I know firsthand that this company is a fantastic fit for the disc golf community, delivering scores of products that disc golfers will enjoy. We’re delighted with the cultural fit that the DGPT shares with LL Bean, as our visions align regarding the benefits and importance of the outdoors.”

Wisconsin-based Johnsonville is the No. 1 national sausage brand in the country, featuring: brats, Italian sausage, smoke-cooked links, breakfast sausage, summer sausage, and meatballs.“We see disc golf as a growing sport driven by an enthusiastic grass-roots fan base and are excited to bring some Johnsonville Sausage flavor to the tour,” said Johnsonville’s Senior Director of Strategic Growth Jamie Schmelzer.

“It’s wonderful for the DGPT to be able to partner with Johnsonville, a brand enjoyed by many disc golfers,” said Spring. “We’re already working on some great partnership ideas, and we’re excited to smell the tailgater’s grills stocked with Johnsonville products at DGPT events going forward!”

All four rounds of the Tour Championship will stream live on the Disc Golf Network, and tickets to spectate the event are now available for purchase.
