Hall of Fame broadcaster and sports radio icon Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo is making his return to Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, NJ, for a special live broadcast of his SiriusXM show. The Friday, August 4 episode of Mad Dog Unleashed will mark Russo’s first broadcast at the popular Jersey Shore venue since 2007.
Russo will host the special four-hour extended show (3-7 pm ET) from the Bar A’s Summer Stage, where he will be joined by special guests.
“Bar A, I’m back, baby!” proclaimed Russo. “The summer show was always a blast. I’m excited to be at it again and we’ve got a great show planned on August 4. Love all our Jersey Shore fans!!!”
Russo and his former partner, Mike Francesa, hosted a special summer edition of their show, Mike and the Mad Dog, from Bar A for many years. In 2008, Russo joined SiriusXM to launch his own national sports talk channel, Mad Dog Sports Radio.
Mad Dog Sports Radio is available to SiriusXM subscribers nationwide in their cars (channel 82) and on the SXM App (https://siriusxm.us/MDSR). Russo hosts the channel’s anchor program, Mad Dog Unleashed, live every weekday from 3-6 pm ET.
Over the course of his legendary career, Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo has been one of the most influential figures in sports talk radio and is widely recognized for his role in popularizing the format as we know it today across the country. For nearly 40 years he has been a fan favorite for his feisty, unflinchingly candid approach to talking sports and the unrestrained, rapid-fire delivery that earned him the nickname “Mad Dog.” His signature show opening, “Aaaaaaaand good afternoon, everybody!” has become one of the most well-known and often-imitated phrases in the sports media lexicon.
In addition to headlining SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio channel, Russo can be heard on his daily podcast, Mad Dog’s Daily Bite, and can be seen on his daily show, High Heat with Christopher Russo, on MLB Network, as well as on ESPN’s First Take with Stephen A. Smith.
On November 1st, 2022 Russo was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.
