Telemundo Presents Defining USA Vs Portugal Match Tuesday

Telemundo, the exclusive Spanish-language home of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™, presents the final week of the Group Stage starting with Portugal v. USA and Vietnam v. Netherlands taking place simultaneously on Telemundo and Universo respectively. Coverage for Portugal v. USA kicks off at 2 a.m. ET with an extended 1-hour of Telemundo Deportes pregame show, Hoy en La Copa.  

This defining match against Portugal is Team USA’s final game of the Group Stage determining which team advances to the Round of 16. Fans all over the United States will be watching closely as they follow Team USA’s fight for a record-setting three-peat. 

Calling all the action as it happens is Telemundo Deportes’ award-winning commentary team including seven-time Emmy award-winner and Chief Soccer Commentator Andres Cantor calling all the action with former Mexican National Team player Manuel Sol providing game analysis, and professional soccer coach Natalia Astrain live from Eden Park in Auckland. 

Other key matches include Panama v. France, Jamaica v. Brazil, and Argentina v. Sweden. Returning to cover Vietnam v. Netherlands this week are Daniella Lopez-Guajardo, Janelly Farias and Diana Rincon who led Telemundo’s coverage of the Canada v. Republic of Ireland match making it the first time in Spanish-language media history a FIFA Women’s World Cup match was called by a female play-by-play with support of female analysts. 

Telemundo’s landmark FIFA World Cup show, Hoy en La Copa, will extend to 1-hour ahead of most matches throughout the week, providing an in-depth preview of the matches with analysis of all the action around the participating teams including colorful content from the stadiums and training grounds. Telemundo Deportes’ Ana Jurka, Carlota Vizmanos, Miguel Gurwitz and Carlos Yustis will serve as hosts with the participation of all expert commentators.
