Disc Golf Pro Tour Heads To The Metaverse With The KingDome

The Disc Golf Pro Tour today announced a new partnership with The KingDome, a groundbreaking digital arena, that will bring the tour’s last round of the LWS Open at Idlewild on July 10th to the Metaverse.

“Two of our core values are continual improvement and collaboration,” said Jeff Spring, DGPT CEO and Tour Director. “These values are essential to the growth of our media program which has expanded dramatically since the founding of the Tour in 2016. We’re thrilled to be teaming up with The KingDome to provide another access point for fans and newcomers alike to enjoy our events and experience the sport.”

The partnership will also include future product development including customized spaces, digital wearables, and more. Tickets are now available for purchase here.

A portion of all ticketing proceeds will be donated to Universal Play Disc Golf (Uplay), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2017 by disc golf professional and gifted teacher Zoe AnDyke, whose mission it is to promote health, well-being, and enhance communities through the provision of educational disc golf programs.

“A major early focus of ours was to align with innovative and compelling leagues and brands,” said KingDome CEO Alex Fleshner. “The Disc Golf Pro Tour fits perfectly in that mold and we couldn’t be more excited to have a partner that is looking to redefine the next generation of live entertainment with us.”

The KingDome is a groundbreaking digital arena in the Metaverse that will redefine in-home live sports and entertainment content. Supported by a highly engaged, tech-forward community of NFT holders, KingDome is bringing the in-stadium experience to the digital world. With stadium instances on Metaverse platforms Decentraland and Stageverse, The KingDome features a live social viewing experience, merchandise shop and sportsbook, and is developing a year-round content calendar of programming with customized experiences, partnerships, and perks associated with each event.
