For Soccer Ventures’ Black Star to Bring Soccer, Community, and HBCU Programming to L.A., Houston

For Soccer Ventures/Black Star

For Soccer Ventures (FSV), an independent media and experiences company focused on the growth and long-term development of American soccer, will conclude its 2022 programming for Black Star in Los Angeles and Houston on November 11th – November 13th and November 18th – November 20th, respectively.

Black Star will continue to celebrate Black soccer culture, build community, and provide players and coaches access to soccer development pathways through its free Community Pick Up, First-Touch Youth Clinic, Girls and Boys ID Showcase, and U.S. Soccer Coach for Community – Coaching Clinic events.

Paramount+ will be the presenting sponsor for all Black Star events in LA. Angel City FC and the LA Galaxy will also serve as community partners. Additionally, Black Star’s Community Pick Up event will be hosted in partnership with The Association – an LA-based influencer league featuring a diverse group of impactful and influential soccer, fashion, music, and popular culture personalities. Community Pick Up will feature small-sided games, food trucks, and merch pop ups.

In Houston, Black Star will support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), teaming up with Boyd Parker Sports Group to host the first-ever Houston HBCU Soccer ID Camp, providing college soccer recruiting opportunities for high school players and college transfers. The Houston Dash and Houston Dynamo FC will serve as community partners for all Houston events.
“This is a fantastic program celebrating diverse soccer culture and the Dynamo and Dash look forward to supporting a community initiative that amplifies opportunities to play the sport,” Houston Dynamo FC chief operating officer, Jessica O’Neill said. “We are thrilled to host this event at our performance center later this month and provide a best-in-class experience for participants.”
Adidas and Buzzer continue as Black Star national sponsors.
